Thinking of planning a trip there around Thanksgiving this year. Hard for me to find information on whether or not this is an OK time of year to be there to catch bones. I know it is technically the "off-season" there in November and December, but does anyone have any details they can share?

Thanks in advance...

I've been there in Oct. Water is much higher and most wading is done along the beaches so a wading basket is a good thing to take. However the tarpon fishing this time of year is very good with lots of large tarpon. Barry and Cathy Beck are hosting a trip there in Oct. Check with Frontiers to see if they have room. We have been there a number of times with the Beck's and have really enjoyed it. I think Pez Raton Lodge is best set up and has the best guides. Frontiers does the booking for them. Also don't be afraid of going to Venezuela if you book with Frontiers- they make sure there are no difficulties with the locals
