Not exactly a heavy duty report but have started to get some fishing in after working on a major house remodel project. I've had some luck at the inlet on the gin beach side every evening............only fished about an hour each night but there are lots of 5-10 lb bass around. Been picking up 2-3 a night on big white deceivers fished right under the surface, also on floating swimmers with spinning gear. I have also seen some fluke caught from shore at dusk too.

This weekend I tool my four 9 yr old nieces and nephews out fishing on Sat, Sun and today........no fly rod even on board on most days given how busy I was with three kids. Everyone had a blast. Lots of fluke off Gin Beach(all returned), some porgies at outer shag, some nice bluefish action off rocky point, and we noticed some monster blues off colloden point this afternoon..........picked up three at 8,10, and one that weighed 15 lbs on the boga grip(all four kids shared in the fight, and then we had to chase it to get it in!). Ran out to the north side of Gardners on Sunday but the tide was pretty slack when we were there........didnt see much.

Anxious to hit the point and the south side, and then head offshore for some action when my son comes down from boston on the weekends. I'll post reports for all action.
tight lines to all.

Good to see your reports again, Mike. Thanks.

Is that you in the Grady catalog (the 257 model page)?

Hi-thanks for the note. Cant wait to do some more interesting trips.
My wife and I are going to try and hit the point and the south side
the next few evenings for some fly rod action. In regard to the Grady
White catalog....Yes, that is our picture and quote on the "257 CC" page---what a kick!
The picture is of our first mako, caught by my son with some of his
college buddies and the quote is about a Thresher that my son and I
got last summer. We try to only keep one shark a summer..........for the
great grilling! One of our goals this year is a shark on a fly........we got so close last year but could not get the take despite many good shots.

We did get out tonight for a run to the point, from 730-dark,but there was a major thunderstorm moving in from Conn, so we didnt stay to do any fishing. Nothing on the surface, except an acre of bait right in front of the coast guard station in the harbor.

Love my 257. Can't wait to have it out in MTK again for Sept-Oct.
