Malone Seawings

Anyone use these? Thoughts?

I will be for my Trident 15. Would love to load / unload with the top of the kayak facing up.

I use Seawing saddles for sit-in touring kayak and love them but prefer adjustable-width saddles for wider fishing yak (Hobie Quest). My sit-atop, stacked right-side up or upside down, doesn't get enough support from the Seawings.

I use the Seawings to transport a Malibu Stealth 12 on top of a Toyota Landcruiser and have been very pleased. I add an additional 2 tie downs over the kayak to the roof rack in addition to the ones supplied that loop around the Seawings. Rides very solid and have taken 500 mile trips and speeds up to 80 mph.

Guys I have had mulitple failuers with the Seawing.
Every pair , except 1 , I sold came back cracked or broken
Malone said they had some batch problems but it's a design problem.
Personally I have 4 pairs brake, they kept giving me replacements and those failed.
I used them daily year round, winter included. I was transporting Tarpon 120 /140's. X-Factors, larger kayaks

We no longer sell them or use them.

Thanks for the heads up, where did they fail? At the bolt location?
I got mine from Austin Kayak,I will give them a call and see if they have had any issues. Their customer service is excellent.
