For the Northeast wading fisherman, which 9wt intermediate line do people think casts best? Realize that a lot depends on personal preference but I'm interested to hear why people prefer one over another if it's articulable.

I've been using the Rio striper line all year and love it!!!!!

After trying SciAng and Rio striper lines, i still prefer and use Airflo's cold saltwater clear int. line or their 40+ intermediate lines in 9, 10 and 11 wt.

My preference is mostly based on Airflo's non tangling, non birds nest castability which can be infuriating as we all know.

I'm always giving other new lines a shot but always return to Airflo. Just my preference, however, and I'm sure lots of guys have theirs, too.

The clear Airflo inter would be my first choice as well. :brow I finally wore mine out this spring after 11 seasons of brutal use.--126-3-
Rio is an excellent line too, and is my choice when using my 12wt.:brow

Although I'm no longer based on the East Coast, I used to really enjoy the Monic intermediate lines for the striper/albie thing, they cast well seemed to last better than some of the other lines I had. I was given my first one by a shop that just couldn't seem to sell them and I ended up very pleased with those lines.

All good lines and, yes the rod has more to do with the best line to rig it with than "personal preference" but my question is: For the wading or, for that matter, boating angler fishing blitzing albies or boiling bass, why use an intermediate rather than the the far easier to pick up and re-cast floating line?
