Took the kayak out last evening, putting in under I-95 and paddling out past longshore to Mill Beach.
Hit some cocktail blues just before the Longshore Marina on the eastern flats, and then it wnet quiet until I got to Mill Beach. There schoolies were rolling and slapping on the gently rolling water, and I got rid of the wire leader and hooked five on a black clouser.
On the way back, on the flats off Owenoke beach, just as Capt Northrop describes in his current report, I was surrounded by bass tipping in 12"-24" of water. I was running out of time, and so only made a few more casts with the black clouser before hooking up with a 28-incher, best of the evening. It towed me to deeper water where I eventually released it. A nice end to a beautiful evening.
