After listening to Friday night marine forecast I did not hold much hope of getting out on the water Saturday morning. So I slept late & got down to marina at10:30
Weather seemed fine so I jumped on the boat left the marine & found a calm ocean w/ just a swell from the south. While cross the Coney Island flats spotted birds working in close to the beach decided to give it a shot.

Bingo! Bass all over the beach loading up on sand eels about 6 inches long. Fished the area west of the pier in about 20 feet of water knocking them dead for over any hour 6 bass: 2 were keeper 30 inches 4 short 24 – 26 inches left them jumping & headed off to Breezy Point to look for Albies. The Jetty was a zoo. Boats chasing birds & blues Hooked up 2 blues about 4 lbs & left. I ran back along the beach found bass just about were I had left them caught two more shorts & called it a day.
Not bad morning
Sunday I hoped to repeat Saturday’s action but the bass did not cooperate There were still in the same place but not as responsive Fished for 4 hours w/ only 2 bass shorts & 2 small blues
Caught fish on Decievers ( White & Green ) & Crease poppers ( blue & white

Sea Conditions: slight swell, Water Clarity: Clear off Coney Island & Brown & Dirty at the jetty. Water Temps 64

Nice going. I considered CI this morning, but I headed south instead. Found plenty of albies around Romer. I would have stayed with them longer, but my guest wanted to go toggin so we left after just one albie. They were pretty thick on the North side of Romer, close to Chapel Hill channel.

Tog fishing was okay. I'll check out the bass next time.

Itsmoderating I was out there too, didn't see ya! I had my friends son, who never caught a Albie or striper! On way out we jigged and released about 20 short fluke, just to "gaurantee the kid some action" Not much was happenning at Breezy, saw all the trollers, went back toward C.I. Landed 2 albies 1 each. Tide and fish died, waited and jigged around hoping next tide would produce. Nothing !!! Sea Robins every where, was catching them on a BARE HOOK!!!! Now to get the kid his bass, headed to a bunch of my spots in NY Harbor NOTHING!!! Finally a 26" striper and 8 gorilla blues. Now get this, the kid says why would anyone wanna waste their time with the albies when these blues fight so much better!!!!!!! --124-3
