Fished the beach from about a mile north of Sebastian Inlet to the N. Jetty this morning well before dawn and back. Took 3 small Snook in the swash on the way south. On the way back, hooked a nice Tarpon. After 4-5 jumps he broke me off. I'm using 12 #test tippets on my 9wt. Sage XP to let the Tarpon break off without having to handle them to release.

Just as I got back to my starting point I had a Swirl behind the fly and it took off toward Portugal, peeling off 150-200 yards of line and backing, in no time at all, before it too broke off at the tippett. Never saw it after the swirl so, can only speculate it was a shark. The same tippet makes it unnecessary to handle the sharks before releasing them too!!!

As usual down here in the surf, I use my goto fly, a white polar bear deceiver about 3" long.
