bait fishing in newport

Hey folks,
Thanks for your help in past, I finally got my first stripper on second beach last week...nothin big (about 22") but i got one. I need some quick response on this one though. My parents are in from Ohio, I'd like to get my dad atleast a schoolie or blue...(something bigger than bluegill) whats a good bait/location combination. Any help is appreciated.

Forget the bait. Your most assured way to catch a few schoolies is to buy a bag of Sluggo's, a coupe of jig heads, and use around 10-15 lb test. Fish the general areas of Newport: beaches cliffs etc. keep an eye out for moving water and structure, and you should find a few bass in there.
