Gentlemen,
does anyone have experience using this vise? I am looking to upgrade from a Peak, which I now can't stand. I was very impressed with the video series I saw on this vise. looks easy to clamp down hook, and nice rotary action. I also like the automatic bobbin. Would greatly appreciate your feedback.
Thanks,
King Fisher

After seeing Norm spin some magic on his fly-lathe I bought the large saltwater kit and I have NO regrets...
'that was close to 15 years ago and it's still going strong [and so is Norm]...
NO going back!
I have a mechanical background and a passion for well made tools and machines...
My vise "collection" is somewhat noteworthy and Norm's innovative handiwork is nothing short of BRILLIANT!
There are those who just don't like the Nor-Vise because because blah blah blah...
I love it!
The more you use it, the better it gets, and the better you get...
The high speed true rotary capability and cam-lock hook holding jaws makes for a unique and enjoyable fly tying experience...
'very well suited for production tying!
Norm has a grand following out on the Left Coast... East Coast, not so much [not sure why]... I'm just happy to be able to enjoy what his "system" has to offer... The Nor-Vise combined with the Automatic Bobbin... BRILLIANT!
It's like nothing else out there!
My vise vice is high end and I consider them all works of kinetic art...
I have NO plans of parting with my trusty, reliable Nor-Vice tools for life...
The "automatic bobbin" stands alone and is insightful engineering at it's best... but again, you have to try it out, give it a fair shot, and learn how to use it... I use it all the time...
I have my choice of numerous high end bobbins and... this is THE ONE as far as I'm concerned...
If you have a problem or a question... call the number and you'll get to talk to Norm... he'll talk you in off the ledge and get you up and going FAST... Customer Service doesn't get ANY better!
Ruth may be in charge, but NORM is the ViceMeister!

i sold one by mistake.. took me 5 years go find another good deal and i'll never sell this one.. only two accessories i want for it now. the fine jaws for drys and the dubbing table.. i have the case and the mounting board.. i never sold my bobbins.. i have 4 and about 40 spools.. love this vise.. solid and precise.. amazingly versitile.. you have to see norm live in action to see how simple it really is to tie great flies on that vise..

check the set screw on the top of the vise.. that is the only thing that will slow down the speed at which your vise will spin. otherwise i'd say its due for a cleaning.. but i can't imagine the bearings would get gummed up. if you are local to boston send me a pm.. i'll look at it for you..
