Headed out late today 6/22 around 3 pm and fished until almost 6pm. Headed straight for the hot spot off the cottages, and fish were still there but further offshore, perhaps 2 miles now. Anyway, ocean was like glass and you could see stripers slurping sand eels for acres and acres. Position the boat properly up current and enjoy a 1/2 mile drift thru the fish. Stopped counting after about a dozen fish. All were caught on small clousers, size 6..........mainly chart/white, although bronze/copper/white worked well too. The key was to cast to a specific fish that was feeding up on top. I did catch some with blind casts but most the hook ups were to specific fish that were actively feeding.
A few blues were mixed in as I was bit off twice. All stripers were 24-27 inches, chunky, and covered with sea lice. Only boat nearby was the party boat the Ebb Tide and they seemed to be fluking.
Definately fun and challenging. Hope this lasts a few more days!
