Connecticut Shore Fishing Areas

Can anyone suggest areas along the western part of Connecticut to fish from the shore? Thank you.

I can't help you directly because I usually fish the eastern part of Connecticut from my kayak, but I would recommend contacting the Connecticut DEP. They have a free map showing all public access points and boat launches on the Connecticut shore. I got one last year and it showed me lots of new spots to try.

The mouth of the Saugatuck River in Westport was hot last week and I heard reports of bunker action at Compo Beach.
Westport and points west are a hard place to find a launch ramp. Norwalk harbor might be the best put-in spot, then work east. Shore wading at Sherwood Island S.P. beaches.
