Has anyone stayed at/fished Mout Pleasant Lodge on Andros? I hear it's a great option for DIY bonefishing - anyone who's been there have any tips?

Hey.
I haven't been to Andros. So not much help in me on that subject..
But... I have fished Abaco several times DIY, with great results.
In three trips I've had 8 fish above the 10lbs mark, and lots between 5 to 8lbs.
Here's a link to the place I've stayed at: http://bonefishbonefish.com/
Fantastic place to stay at, and unlimited fishing options!
Tight lines!

Haven't fished it but did look into it at one time. Seemed to be a good deal. Heard food and lodging good. Beautiful flats but the fish can be difficult. Think they are hit pretty hard right around the lodge.

Evotec, Have you fished this part of Abaco in the autumn (November) or March/April only? Also, do you take the whole house or can one rent a room for two? Thanks

Hey!
I haven't fished there personally in November, but a friend of mine was there last year in Mid-november, He had some very nice days on the flats. He was there for a "family vacation" and didn't fish as much as he'd like..... But managed to land 25-30 bones. I have fished there in September, March, April May,June. All good!
The house works as a guest house, you rent a room. With the room comes all meals, some transport, kayaks(wich are very nice!). I think they even let you use their spinning gear and flytying gear for free.
I think there's some info on all this on their webpage.
I've been on 12-15 fishingtrips to different locations in the caribbean. Staying at CasaMar in Little harbour has been the best so far! Both fishing and the stay itself was exxxelent!

Hey!
It's soon time to get away from Scandinavia and the cold! To Abaco where the only cold thing is the beer;-)
The easiest way for you, traveling from DK would possibly be London-Nassau-Abaco. That way you will arrive in the afternoon, rather than traveling the way I do from Norway; Holland-Ft.Lauderdale-Abaco, Which means I'll have to spend the night in Ft.Lauderdale.
I'm off to my 4'th trip there in Oct/Nov this year. Let me know if you wanna tag along!
You could also book your stay on the Bonefishbonefish.com homepage. They may have some vacancies for spring 2011.

Been to MP twice. Great place, lots of bones. Recommended. Perfect for DIY, and the staff can also drive you around to other flats nearby if you get tired of fishing local flats. But flats just outside the lodge will keep you busy for many days. Basic, clean accommodation, good food.
