Sunday morning hoped it was would lay down so we could fish the Mud Buoy or Oil Wreck But No luck it was still blowing . --124-3
We tried local spots on the bay side of the Rockaways Nada. Then hit the Jetty but just to rough to fish. Check the Horizon for birds Nada not a sign of life
Headed west past Romar Shoal It was roaring over the shoal to Staten Island a wet & bumpy ride
Drifted the rock piles & hit the blues 4 lbs up to 8 lbs (no bass) but you really had to worked for these fish.
End the day with about a dozens or so fish. It was a wet ride all morning.
When will the albies show up ???

What I really meant was the NY/NJ Fishwire weekly report but thanks for your report anyway

The fishwires took about between 2 and 4 hours a week of my time to edit and post for the past 14 years. Over the past couple years, it became a lot harder to get reports, and the general quality of what we were getting got to a point that it stopped making sense for me. Where once we had 15 guides routinely reporting, we were down to 5 on a good week.

This season, with no budget for writers, and a complete moratorium on my working on RT from the office (remember, my employer now owns RT) I decided it was time to give it up.

The fact that I've had exactly 2 complaints since May pretty much tells the tale.

I'm willing to let anyone who's got a desire do the reports, so long as they don't get too partisan, political and can work with the guides.

It's not just NY - it is all the fishwires...

Thanks for your response, Mark, as well as your dedication to the Fishwire for all these years. Sorry to see it go.

It's just time for me to not be devoting so much time to them. Again, anyone that wants to step up can take over the reporting duties...
