All,
I have been traveling a lot for work this year. Most of my travel has been on JetBlue and I now have a ridiculous number of miles. I would like to use the miles this winter to go to someplace warm with my wife. Of course, I would like to get some fishing in. Thus, the criteria are that JetBlue flies there, the place is warm, the hotels are nice, good restaurants, some touristy activities, and, of course, fishing (nearshore). I am not interested in going offshore due to price and the fear that the wind will be blowing.
JetBlue flies to the following Caribbean locations:
Nassau
Montego Bay
Aruba
Santo Domingo
San Juan
St Maartan
Bermuda
Has anyone been to these locations? Any thoughts?
Thanks

same deal for me have done Jamaica would not bother again for fishing. PR was ok when I was in the service. Have done the others YET. Doing San Francisco with the wife this month going to have a half day in salt and a half day in fresh. A little far north this time of year but have never hooked a big salmon. Southern California can be nice, though

Nassau. You can fly out of Nassau to any number of neighboring "family" islands in the Bahamas pretty cheap. Depends what you are looking for in a vacation. But you'll get alot better fishing for sure.

forget Bermuda - the inshore is pretty crummy until May and it blows all winter.
i second the nassau idea - jump to a out island in the bahamas- nice people , good food , goood fishing

I know that I may be biased but SXM is an excellent choice.
We have everthing here including an inshore fishery that is world class and that has relatively no fishing pressure.
If you decide to visit let me know.

How much time you have? Several days in Nassau and several days on an out-island (as a compromise, of course) a possibility?
Depends on your spouse though. The outislands depending on where you go can be pretty remote, laid back and simple. If you're into getting away and quiet times then great. If not, look elsewhere. But the fishing possibilities are endless and world class. Feel free to PM me if you want any info on Andros as that is where I am most familiar. $120 round trip p/person to get there.

PR will give you shots at multiple species (Tarpon, bones, snook). You can fish tarpon in the harbors/rivers around San Juan and then go a little remote for a couple days over to Culebra and fish bones.
Nas is also a good bet but you'll need to get from NAS to an out island to get bones.

You can fly or take the ferry to Vieques or Culebra or both.
