useing a 10# weight line on a 9# weight Rod

I use a 10 foot 10 weight Loomis GLX for saltwater. Just bought a 9 foot 9 weight GLX for freshwater Bass and Musky. Would like to use my 10 weight lines on the 9' 9 weight. Any advice ?????

You can use a 10#wt line, on a 9wt rod,but you lose distance on your cast.Also you may damage your rod ferule.On the plus side, you can through larger flies.
