I believe I read somewhere that Fisher is no longer in business, but I'm not 100% sure this is the case.

I know how you feel. I have two Fishers, a 7 wt and a 5 wt and love them.
I haven't seen them around lately either. I was told some time ago that Fisher was a blank maker for several brands but don't know that as a fact.
I asked John Samms of the Green Drake Fly Shop in Canmore, Alberta the same question this past September. He told me that a Fisher rep had been to his shop and was promoting a rod with multiple tips, ie one or two base sections with various tips to cast a range of line weights.
Try contacting John for info re Fisher (jsamms@greendrakefly.com); he's a good guy and will share info I'm sure if he knows.
Good luck
