Spent this morning in the rips and flats along Monomoy and east of south beach. After a few days of good fishing things have really slowed down. The rips were empty and the open water had no sign of fish. With the water finally warming they have turned the corner and headed north. Boston Harbor, Mass. North Shore, and Maine should be the beneficiaries.

My brother and I were out on the flats (South Beach) last night from 7 to 11 and killed em with fish from twinkies to 29" on dark clousers and decievers. On the fourth I had an increadible day with many many large fish and 4 keepers up to 35 inches. The magic flies on that day were a felt crab and a bright chartruese clouser type thing.

They may be on their way out but there are still good numbers to be had with enough large ones to make you happy for your backing.

Gregg, I could not agree with you more. Last 3 days I have found the flats loaded. Yup, LOADED! All channels around Monomoy LOADED! Outside South beach LOADED with birds, bait and fish! Is it the salad days of Spring all over again?

Nope, just the normal affects of these exaggerated tides. Look for a day by day account of this weeks fishing in my next wade, fly, Monomoy Report. You wont believe it!

Happy Hookin;
