Best day yet. We arrived early (for us anyway) and were into fish immediately. Birds were all over the mouth as the sun came up. There were sand eels of various sizes moving in the area between the sand bar and the end of the jetties.

From 5 to 9:30, we caught 70-80 fish between the three of us including one 36 incher on a 6" Slug-go style jig. We found the Slug-go which matches the colors of a 6" eel to be pretty effective.

We didn't see any blues taken and the water temp was still at 58 degrees. The season seems to be running a bit behind schedule this year, at least compared to the past few years.

Lotsa bait, bass, and bouncin' make for a good day on the river.

Al,

you're killing me. I decided to have a family-friendly
Saturday, and took the clan up river to hang out on the
boat and teach the dog how to swim. I left all fishing
gear behind. I arrived at my dock in Salisbury at 11:00
am to see stripers pounding minnows underneath the docks.

I saw more boils further upstream by some moored sail
boats.

I am beside myself.

Phil,

I hear ya. I am taking the family out to see the Parade of Sail and I have visions of busting fish outside the anchor area and not being able to go after them. I decided to leave one rod on the boat, just in case. It will just kill me to sit there and not be able to do anything.
