View Full Version : Plymouth fish report?
Anybody been fishing Plymouth/Duxbury area? Any action? I heard there was huge school of 30 lb. fish in there on thurs. Are they still around?
<FONT color=black face=Verdana,Geneva size=2>If they are they were no where near the back of the beach last night. I fished the outgoing 'til 1am and Nada. There were some shad or pogies flopping here and there so that may account for the presence of large fish in the harbor. Seemed to be more action about a week ago. Better luck to you.</FONT>

Plymouth/Duxbury AM Sunday. Lots of good looking spots but got blanked. Saw only one fish caught, and there was alot of effort out there.

Plymouth was very Slooooooow this morning. I managed 2 small blue fish and 5 bass, all under 20". The water was absolutely packed with grass and rockweed and the current was hardly moving to flush it away. Talk about loading the rod!! Every time I tried to load the rod on the pickup, there was a pound of weed hanging off my fly. As the saying goes, "there was more weed out there than at a Grateful Dead concert".
On another note, I passed a charred log <tree trunk> which washed away from a recent beach fire. It was black, 5 feet long and @18" in diameter and sat low in the water. What a hazzard!! I called the Duxbury harbormaster and reported it. Keep your eyes open out there, this is the time of year all the crap from holiday beach fires ends up as floatsam.

I fished Friday am 1 hour after the high tide, got into fish around 7:oo am and landed a 40"er being the biggest, but caught 8 fish by 8:00, a school moved in of huge fish from bug light to Clarks I got broke off twice and the wife and I got fish from 22"-30" too bad she was not feeling well and I was out of the water by 9:00am, I weighed the big one at Cherrys it was 25lbs on a ricity old scale with the head and tail hanging off. But I was on vaca all week and fished Duxbury and plymouth every day with no keepers until Friday.
