I've been reading some awesome reports lately (ie- Monomoy 7/6/00) and it seems that alot of guys don't even mention using a flyrod in their report. I appreciate the heads up on where you're finding the fish, but are any of these big pigs being caught on flies?? (this is a flyfishing site, right??) Don't mean to **** anyone off, I'm just asking...Thanks

This is my second season of striper fishing and in the first year I didn't think it was possible to catch a "big" striper on the fly. All I ever got were schoolies. I have learned differently this year having caught 5 Y2K keepers and many more "last years" keepers. I have caught the "last years" keepers in multiple places but have caught all my Y2K keepers off of South Beach in Chatham. The magic flies for me so far have been a crab, a sparse olive/white sand eel, and a gaudy big and flashy chartreuse clouser type sand eel. I don't know what you think of as big but my biggest this year is 35".
