Headed out with the family for a few hrs. Some swells on the ocean eliminated the best areas on the south side. We did catch a few keeper fluke before exploring the north side all the way to Gardners. Not much action on top until later in the day around 6pm, when we were out by the midway buoy towards Block Island. Lots of shearwaters around which made us curious and pretty soon we were watching sprays of butterfish or peanut bunker. Threw some top water plugs and discovered monster bluefish. Tied on some fat deceivers that mimicked peanut bunker, and they worked great. Overall, caught about a dozen fluke with 2 keepers in the mix. Also 5 big blues. Ocean calmed down alot in the evening. Nice night. Fish fry at 10pm!
Should be able to fish alot next week, may try an offshore adventure if the weather cooperates.
