I usually fish in the New Hampshire/Maine Border. I always go to Suds N' Soda Sports. For several reasons, one main reason is they really know what they are talking about, and are always willing to help you better your fishing skills. Jim MacKenzie is the owner and he has been involved in fishing and hunting for years and he provides great information, the kind you just can't find in the department stores. His son Jason MacKenzie really goes way out of his way to help you out to, and he can explain everything with confidence and make it all look very simple. And it is fun to hear him tell his stories of taking several different celebrities out fishing. The other Main reason is they are really great on thier prices, because there is no tax in New Hampshire. They sell tons of equipment there, for less than everybody else in the area. They have the cheapest PENN prices I have ever seen. I have only heard good praise about Suds N' Soda. Honest, Reliable, and Cost effective, and best of all No Tax. Not to mention they have everything you need. And they don't seem to have a revolving door of inexperienced employees. I think they are the best by far, easy to get to from all directions..

LOL-I dunno if it was, but I live not far from that place and, when I went in to pick up some 50 lb dacron, I was impressed at the help that was offerred-didn't seem patronizing or heavy-handed, just good advice. The place was very well-stocked, albeit more for fresh than salt. Seems like a nice place...
