hitting it this sunday on the fly from a boat. Never fished it, nor any of the SE mass trout holes. Thinking usual stillwater techniques, dredging depth contours with fast sink and dark buggers, , and watching for rises and surface activity with a dry/floater at the ready
Any and all advice welcome.
thx Pete

Most of the larger hatches should be over. Focus on dragonfly nymphs, midge patterns, leaches, and streamers. Water boatman may be migrating as well. There are two basic types of dragons, darners and gomphus. Gomphus is slow moving a fatter. They will usually hide in the mud an come out at low light. Darner will dart around near vegitation and detritus. They are thinner and available more often. Hanging leaches from a quick release indicator is also effective. When using quick release indicators postion your fly within a foot or so of the bottom.

My go to method for all those plymouth area ponds are the same. Sinking lines and weighted size 6 buggers, typical colors, olives, blacks, browns, or any combination. Change up the retrieve and depth till you find what they want.
