Thinking about heading out to the rocks in front of winthrop beach this evening to fish the twilight hours and maybe spot some of the big boats. Can anyone tell me if it's possible/safe to wade from the rocks back to winthrop beach at high tide? I don't mind doing a little wading, but I have only been there at low, and don't want to be stuck out there waiting for the tide to fall.

thanks

hope you didnt have a problem....there is probably a way to pick your way out to the breakwaters but i wouldnt try it at high tide or mid incoming for that matter.

Got out to Winthrop around 6:30 and there was indeed a shallow path out to one of the breakwaters. Waded in until I was 20 ft from it, and the water was waste deep with the tide 2 hours from full...so I turned around and fished a jetti a little farther down toward deer island. Skunked, although a guy out there told me he caught two schoolies the night before.
