I am seriously thinking of buying a 1991 Parker 23' W/A, '92 Mariner 175, cox trailer, no bottom paint, full canvas, Ratheon color depth, Ratheon Loran, etc., excellent condition, lightly used, not moored. Any opinions out there? My impression is that Parker makes a great hull, strong, dry, heavy. My impression is that Mariner doesn't have the advertising campaign or links with Grady that Yamaha has, but that it is a very dependable, durable motor, often used commercially. Comments anyone?

ED,

I own a 1993 Parker 18CC with a 130hp Yamaha, loadrite trailer. I love the boat. Very solid and pretty darn dry for a boat this size. Put the biggest trim tabs you can on the boat if they don't already have them. Makes a huge difference in the ride. I have never been a big fan of Mariner. My dad had one once and it fell apart after about four years of light work. All my friends run Yamaha.
