I went out last night in my kayak armed with only a fly rod and a selection of clousers and deceivers - many color patterns. I found that directly under the lights of docks, speckled trout would rather eat an all white fly than a yellow/white fly. Reds seemed to take liking to all-brown clousers. I caught 2 reds, both on the aforementioned fly - 3 lbs. and 4 lbs. - including a baby flounder on the fly. Speckled trout ate all night, including a 5 pounder and a whole mess of schoolies from 12 inches to 20 inches. The big one ate an all white deceiver in the outside shadows of a dim light. I didn't see the strike, but boy did I feel it. All fish were released.
