Not a beach day so I could fish all day.

Launched at Great River and headed out in the dark to Waquoit entrance. Started a drift at the beginning of the WI jettie and was promptly reward with a fat 25" bass. continued the drift out the mouth and next fish was a blue. Spent an hour there spin and fly catching bass and blues. Headed over to VineHaven after the sky brighten. Nothing at East chop went over to Old Bluff and there were 1/2 dozen boats waiting around (they had seen some bonito) As I finished talking to one of the other boaters a pod surface 5yds from the boat where I promptly dropped a deadly dick on them and was on. My very first bonito, I was told it was a nice fish maybe 8#.
Left them to check out State beach, couple boast hanging about so I hung in as well. Had a shot at several pods of fish over the next hour or so. Some hits but no hook ups. Headed back to Oak bluffs, new crowd, had a shot at another pod. Contintued west to check spots along the way.
Several boats has seen fish but all was quiet. Head back over to Lackey came across some bluefish 3/4 of the way. When I got to the cove there was one boat off the western side, I anchored on the east, got out a soda and waited. From 1:30pm to almost 3 there were fish moving through the area. I had on group all around me and after 3 cast with the DD I picked up my spare rod set up with a white bucktail and instant hit.

Bilge pump broke so I called it quits. Great day.

Bob,
Congrats on the slam! Hopefully, I get my shot in a day or two. If you are out around the Vineyard, and see a guy in a gray tandem Old Town kayak trying to get a bonito....don't run me over!
:) Just kidding!!
