Lowrance GlobalMap 1600

Hi Folks,

Testing out the new software and asking a question at the same time.

Does anyone have the Lowrance GlobalMap 1600? I need a GPS and don't want to spend $2700 on the 951XD and I think I've settled on the Lowrance for under $1000 with the differential. Can anyone comment on this unit?

Cap- I can't comment on this particular unit but I do own a Lowrance GlobalMap 100 which I believe uses the same technology-great unit-relatively cheap. 400+ My only complaint was the screen size-too small to rewad without reading glasses! Uses the CD to download chart to unit. Unit can store a large area -no problem. Once you get used to the screens etc it is just fine. I am also looking for a new GPS- I am buying new boat and will purchase a new larger screen unit. Captain Don
