Help! What are the best knots for attaching #50 spectra to flyline and dacron backing?

I use 50# spectra a lot as backing. I tie a Bimini in the spectra (30-50 twists), and then double that with a surgeon's loop. On the end of the fly line, I use a braided mono loop, and then loop-to-loop the doubled Bimini and the mono loop. As with any knot system, check it frequently for wear, although I've had very little problem with that setup.
By the way, on the braided mono, I use 50-lb Gudebrod braid, and make an interlocking loop, then slide the standing end up about 5-6 inches on the fly line, securing just the very end of that with 1 or 2 8-turn nail knots tied with 10 lb (+/-) mono.
Works great.
Never connected spectra to dacron, but would recommend loop-to-loop there too, again checking for wear.

I usually tie a Bimini twist in the spectra and only use that for backing. I tie an albright to the flyline . I usually double the line to keep it from cutting into the flyline too deep. I have recently switched away from spectra as it is not really necessary to load up that much backing. It also is very abrasive and easily cuts fingers. I will never use it on a set up for tuna as it acts like a wire saw on fingers
