We're going to the Belize River Lodge the 1st wk of March.
March is usually windy, but we have no choice. For Tarpon
& Bones the place to go is either the above named lodge or
El Pescador Lodge on Ambergris Key. There are permit, but
the southern part of Belize is better if you want to just
target Permit. Bones are small, but the tarpon can be over
a 100 lbs.

I can highly recomend Journeys End - I did not fish much there as I was on my honemoon at the time but I am soon to go back.  Great place.

Thanks Tony. Have you heard anything about Journey's End or Lighthouse Key? R. Dils

Journey's End is a tourist resort that offers some fishing
and diving. It's up the beach about a mile or so from
El Pescador. El Pescador is a fishing lodge that has
developed most of the fishing in the area. When the guides
are not busy you can book them out of Journeys End.

I don't know anything about Lighthouse Reef.

Hello,
I went to San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Belize in September for a honeymoon. I was able to fish three days out of the 10 I was there. Journeys End is a resort north of San Pedro Town, also north of El Pescador. El Pescador is known to Americans to be the place to go for a fishing vacation. This is precisely the reason my wife and I did not stay there(honeymoon). If I may make a few suggestions...
If you want to be secluded go north, if you want to browse and eat at different places stay near town, We stayed at Ramones'. We were very happy with everything.

Now for fishing. Email AMIGOS DEL MAR DIVESHOP, request Jose Luis Perez, Jose Luis is a great guide for bones and Tarpon,as well as PERMIT. Also you may request Tommy Paz, again great Guide.

Please note in my opinion El Pescador offers an americanized fishing experience. The Two Guides I suggested are locals raised on the Island and earn their living this way.

All of El Pescador's Guides are local San Pedranos raised on the island. They have been fishing the waters off Ambergris Caye their entire lives. And have been fly fishing a minumum of 15 years.
