I took off the plastic cover over the carbs. Looks like there are two carbs. So to fogg this baby, I just fire up the engine and spray into each of these carbs? One after the other? Little in one, little in the other...back and forth and such?

Prop 1 on left is OMC issued Aluminum 13 1/4 x 17. No dings, bends or pitting. $50.00

Prop 2 on right is Stainless Steel manufactured by S&S Propeller in College Pt. Queens, NY. Very Good condition, never bent. 13 3/8 x 17: $150.00

Both came off a late 80's 70HP Evinrude OB so should fit OMC from those years. Great for back up or as an upgrade to SS. Can be shipped UPS Ground, will get quote with delivery address. Reply or PM.

Picked up an engine from a trusted neighbor...no fly by night sale...but a good price since he was looking for some cash for a new home downpayment.

He was not sure what year it is so how can I find that infor from looking at the engine?

The only factory tag on the engine shows Ser# 5806949.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions or answers on finding the age.

DOOH!!!! Found a chart by Googling that shows serial number to year of mfg.

I have had intermittent problems with the "No Oil" alarm on my boat this season. This is a two stroke Johnson 115 Ocean Master (or Ocean Pro?) in pretty good shape and running great since the last mid-season spark plug change. Most of the season, it would happen once maybe every 20 - 30 hours, but now it is every 15 minutes! At first I would check the oil tank to make sure it's full (which it was), re-start the engine and then it would be fine. I have checked the plugs to make sure I'm not running lean, checked the oil line and made sure I could pump oil up to the motor manually, and I always have nice gray smoke coming out of the exhaust to make me think that oil flow to the engine is good. (I replaced the fuel/oil pump close to the end of last season & replaced the tach with alarm indicators this season) I'm wondering if this is likely an issue with the sender? I don't get a "low oil" alarm. I've checked the connections to the tach and they are clean & rust free (and coated with electrical contact lube). I don't know what I can check on the oil tank?

Any suggestions would be appreciated before I call the mechanic and send him searching on my dime. I'm hoping to get a few more weeks out of the season since I've had my best luck the past two year in October. but I'm afraid to head out and have the engine shut itself off thinking there's no oil.

Ran out of this fuel additive on the last fill-up and now I can't find it at most of the usual auto parts and marine retailers. Anyone know where it can be bought on the north shore?
