Halibut with the head on.
O.K., this is the weirdo question of the week.
My sister-in-law is a producer, out in LA, for the Food Network. She produces the show "Calling All Chefs." Now, here is her quandry.
She needs a Halibut, with the head still attached, in Denver, CO by next Tuesday. She is producing a show that details the extraction of the Halibuts cheek, which is then prepared in a similar fashion to scallops. Everyone she contacts on the left coast keeps telling her that they can only bring the Halibut ashore with the head cut off. Is this true?
I'm throwing this out to the collective RT brain trust. If you know of a company that would ship such a fish, or are planning on catching any yourselves and would like to sell one to me so I can ship the beast myself, just reply to this message. I'm on my way to OBX, North Carolina for a wedding and some fishin'. I'll be checking in regularly. Thanks in advance.
