Fishing Barbstable Harbor/Outgoing Tide

Guys: I'm going to fish Barnstable tomorrow AM. High tide at 4:30 AM, so, I'll be there for the outgoing tide. Would you expect to find fish inside, around Horshoe Shoal, at the Mill Creek area, around Beach Point or farther out in the channel? Also, is the East bar or West Bar fishing better?
I'm taking my 12 year old son out, and, I want to get him into some fish quickly so he won't get bored!!!!
We'll be using light tackle spinning and fly gear.
