Having heard reports of squid being caught east and west of my local waters, I decided to give it ago last night. The waters under the lights at a local dock were teaming with bait. I saw no squid and did not have any hits on my squid jig. Being new to this, I could have been fishing it wrong. What I did see was striped bass slashing into the bait. No I could not get a hit on the squid rig.
If at first you do not succeed-sky diving is not the sport for you.

I took the GF out last night to try squidding for the first time. Got a pretty quick dozen and called it a night. Gonna try again tonight. Not looking to fill the cooler, just my belly
Good Luck,

Capt. Terry Nugent
