North Shore Upholstery

Does anyone know of any good shops on the North Shore that do marine upholstery? In particular I'm looking to have some coaming pads made. I'm looking for something fairly high quality though, I've seen some repairs that remind me of my Mom's attempt to redo my dirtbike seat - although the effort was dearly appreciated, it was not the most professional result.

:-)

Seacoast canvas in Newburyport- but there's a good chance you'll need to get in line. We have her do one or two pieces from my pursuit a winter, outstanding work.

I'm sure your correct this time of year. I'm not in a hurry so that will be ok. I think they may have been at my marina a couple of years ago for a vendor open house but I couldn't remember the name. Thanks.

Forget upholstery ... switch to Sea Dek, see www.seadek.com, plus search on my site for 'seadek' and you'll see many pictures and thumbs-up testimonials, even for 5-year old pads fully exposed to the sun and elements.

I know about Sea-Dek but never thought about using it for coaming pads? Is it "cushy" enough? Comes in different thicknesses & durometers?

Definitely not as 'cushy' as upholstery, for much 'softer' than fiberglass , plus it is much cheaper (1/4 to 1/3rd the cost) and lasts longer and doesn't degrade in the sun ...

I looked at their website and the photos they had for this application looked pretty sharp. It unfortunately made me think of a bunch of other applications for Sea Tek so once again, my wallet is in trouble!!
