Small Saltwater Flies

Most people are not thinking of tying flies but can anyone recommend flies for the tiny, <3", bait that has invaded the North of Boston area?
Usually just use small deceiver patterns but anything else would be useful.
Appears to be sea herring.

small bait fish

There is one fly that I have been using this year that the bass seem to like. It is the wooly bugger in all olive. The bass have been hitting it over many of the other flies that have worked in the past, ie. Ray's fly. I tie mine on a #2 hook and use the same tying sequence I do for my freshwater versions and they have been taking more than their share of fish.
Hope this helps, Ron.

Wooly Buggers

Thanks Ron,
I was thinking along that line last night. I have a desk covered in them too. Though none are olive. May also try Ray's fly in different colors.

Had a white fly that worked this morning but a fish came in hooked deep so had to sacrifice the fly for the fish.

Thanks again,
