All around FW rod (trout and smallies)

I am thinking of picking up a new 6wt rod for all around use and I tend to favor St Croix rods.
Anyone have thoughts about using a fast vs moderate action rod? It would be the St Croix Legend Elite (fast), Legend Ultra (mod / fast) or Avid (moderate).
I like a moderate for dries but not sure how it would feel with weighted streamers.
I'll be throwing everything from size 20 dries to 3 inch clousers.
Feedback is appreciated.
Thanks.
Greg
