Martha's Vineyard fall flybox

I'm lucky enough to be traveling to MV in late September and haven't fished the NE/Mass coast in a decade. Aside from deceivers and some clousers can I get some recommendation of what to have tied for the trip.

Not sure what the prevailing bait is or what size on Martha's that time of year. My guess is silversides and sand eels. Any direction as far as pattern names and colors/sizes would be greatly appreciated. If anyone is traveling to MI and needs some local knowledge here let me know. Thanks for helping a returning newbie.

There's nothing like the Vineyard in September. By far the best time of year for everything.

Yes sandeels are the pattern to go with. I have had great success with small, 2 inches or so, patterns in olive and pink over white. In attached image of multiple patterns, the one top is my go to.

If you can book a trip with Jamie Boyle. He's a great fly guy and will put you on fish. If it's anything like the last 2 seasons there won't be any lack of Albies.

Lobsterville and State beaches are great for fly fishing.

I'd be happy to share any MV info. We go often.

The one time I was up there in the fall end of Sept/October there was a decent amount of Peanut Bunker too, especially on the North Side near Tashmoo. Here's a link to some shore fishing spots to get you in the mood:!wheretofish/c1268
