fresh water hooks for bob's banger

I'm tying some bangers for largemouth bass and wondering what would be a good hook size for a 5/8" foam cylinder. I love this pattern but I find that you need a hook with a wide gape so the foam cylinder doesn't inhibit the fishes mouth. I think I loose a lot of fish for this reason. thanks in advance...ron

Use the same hooks you use for salt water, or use largemouth popper hooks. If you make the hole for the hook lower than center of the cylinder you'll have room enough.
