1st albie outing

Yakked buzzards this morning for the 1st albie outing of the season... yay! Saw birds working as I put in... yay again! Trolled with the fly rod and had the spinning rod with deadly dick ready to fly. The birds were working a # of pods of fish and on my way there, picked up a schoolie on the fly. Made my way over to get myself in position for the constantly moving birds and breaks and made a quick cast close to the yak and was on. It fought like a schoolie so I was playing it like joe casual when the rod tip was pulled under the yak and quickly it was off. Had another one on, didn't feel like a tunoid but a nice fight and again lost him.
Spoke to a boat guy who was around and he said he was catching blues. I made another move and flicked DD at some action and I was on...this was a tunoid type of run. A wicked 1st run, reeled in, then another spurt and the battle was on. So I finally pulled in a nice chunky albert. Don't know how many pounds; but it was a good size fish and a memorable fight...love the albie!... And yay again!
