On Board for 2017

Hit my local estuary Monday late afternoon. Tide was in the last stages of heading out. Met a friend and the report was not good. He had been there at least a hour with nothing to show. Even talked to some boaters that had zero results. Friend left, I stayed to fish the turn of the tide. About 10 minutes after I noticed a change in the current there was a splash to my left in shallow water. Cast over there and had a hit. Cast again and got weeded up, third cast I had fish on, no lice so was probably a healthy looking holdover. Back at it after the rain.

I went to RI on Sunday and while they were small I picked up 7 or 8, most all were bright and covered in sea lice.

For my first day out, I'll take it!

Fresh fish came into the Buzzards Bay area last Wednesday. Saw large numbers caught on Saturday, w/ lice.
Oh, it's on!

it's on all over MA

I've caught in Dux/King/Ply bays, seen fish caught in the surf on south shore, viewed pictures of fresh arrivals on the north shore.

Have a great season & be safe all!

Consistently getting stripers here in Sandwich, all small. Last week while walking the canal with my wife we saw some big stripers working over a school of adult mackerel.

I'm hoping for the big one on the fly from shore. That's my goal for this year.
