River Herring here in numbers

Finally with the break in the weather the river herring have arrived in Rhode Island.

We had a few show up March 1st, but the change in the weather back to cold, moved them back out to the ocean.

So far the run looks productive. They are staging and ready to move up the stream to the pond.

Now it will not be long before the stripers show up.

Herring just stated in my local run this week. Late and not sure how strong the run will be.
