Schoolie Tournament

Anyone fishing the Cheeky catch and release tournament? Participating for the first time this year and would be very appreciative of tips leading up to the May 20th date. Wade & Fly fishing only. Get to book the top 4 fish in length so I am looking for shots at bigger fish vs. quantity. I have my haunts, but coming down from VT, I will just have a day of scouting prior to "go time". Fishing has to be on the Cape so places like Scusset are out (although the Cape technically extends to south of Boston from a geographic standpoint).
Thanks in advance for any tips.
Good luck if you're competing. Looks like fun.
John

My shore spots are mostly well known areas, or areas with limited access, and with this rain and cold, I have not checked many out. They never seem to fish the same each season. Pm if there is specific spot you would like checked out to save time.

Barnstable

Bob,
I know you fish Barnstable a lot. I was going to scout the drops off the bars at the end of Bonehill Rd. I have had some good success there in the past and I hear that Barnstable is already getting some good action.
Have you hit that area yet?
Thanks
John
PS tried to PM but it says you're not accepting them.

Do not know why it would say "I not receiving private messages", system may be getting old as there are other bugs in it as well. Have not made it to BH yet since I am waiting for my boat to be ready for pick up, This rain has slowed things down for them. Bone hill certainly would be an option. Scudders lane would be an option as well to fish further into the marsh. Park along the road and not in the lot and you should be ok. Going left to the point has worked for some.

Bob, I couldn't pm you either when you offered some suggestions but thanks. I'll be scouting Friday late as well. Cousin is in Falmouth so I'm headed there. Have fun everyone!

Fish all over the place, just not big enough to count in the tournament. Fished out at Morris along with at least 30 other anglers (so not really a spot burn). Heard that the 2nd bite that day contained bigger fish. Just about any fly pattern worked with the smaller fish.

Lots of micros

We landed many fish, but nothing worth booking. Our good scouting spot from the day before was Bay side and right in the wind and surf, not good for the sight fishing we had been doing a day earlier.
