Epoxy Resin

Hey all,

What's the best place for a good price on epoxy resin, looking for two gallons?

Thanks in advance.

www.raka.com

Maybe not the cheapest but extremely competitive and the product is top shelf.

I used it for my transom rebuild and it was excellent to work with.

Customer service is excellent and Larry (the owner) is a wealth of knowledge

I personally like the progressive epoxy guys in New Hampshire.

Their website is 'tough' to navigate, but they have a great product and pretty good service, if you can get a hold of them.

Prices are tough to beat.

you bring up one of reasons I like Raka. their website is clear and thorough.

I just fax them exactly what I need and every single time they have it on my doorstep in 4 or 5 days. I have probably placed 15 orders with them and they are consistent and reliable and I don't ever have to get on the phone.

[del]Wow the Raka prices are the same as progressive. That used to not be true.[/del]

Just got an email back from the progressive guy. He reminded me that I bought basic no blush, and the raka no blush is 20% more expensive, which is what I remember.

Anyway, I have been really happy with my epoxy. I guess all epoxy basically comes from the same place... the reason Raka is cheaper than west is less over head and marketing. Same goes for Progressive versus raka. Give me the local guy with the cheapest prices every time, especially if you can call him up and ask him technique and product questions and get a straight answer (no marketing mumbo jumbo).

Why not buy in bullk? You probably spent more on shipping 15 orders than I did on epoxy.

I think most of us tend to stick with one supplier once they start.
That way you know what to expect with cure times, temp changes and other factors. having a known product that you trust saves you the really expensive part that occurs when something goes wrong. Having a pot kick off before you can use it, having a blush problem you didn't see or having a glass compatability problem is when it gets costly. If I knew about progressive back when I started buying from Raka 8 or 9 years ago I might have tried them.
