Bonaire

I have just returned from Bonaire. We had a perfect time at the most beautifull island of the Netherlands. We have fished mainly the saltpans in the south of the island. These pans are built in the old days by slaves. The ocean feed these pans by canals and dams. The pans have not the structure and character of flats that you know from the Bahamas, Mexico and Belize. On the pans you will not see big schools of Bonefish as on the flats of for instance the Bahamas but more less little schools of 3 - 8 fish. Plus you will see a lot of Permit ( ! ) and Barracuda. On Bonaire is wading only ! On the saltpans we caught mainly Bonefish and also a nice Permit on a crabfly. The Permit is very aggresive here, "nobody " has fished ever on them and they follow your crab directly when it hits the surface. We fished with a guide called Robert Seket ( Dutch ) of Multifish Charters. Please visit : wwww.mulitfish.com. Email : info@multifishcharters.com
Robert has more than 16 years ( ! ) Bonaire fishing experience and knows exactly which flats are the best for Permit and Bonefish. Late in the afternoon we went to the reef with his 32 ft Sportfishing Cruiser and fished there for Tuna, Barrcuda and Jack species.

We fished in the morning from 07.00 - 12.00 for Bonefish & Permit and on the reef from 17.00 till 19.00.

Packages :
Flatfishing and Reeffishing Package 5 days $ 950,-
Flatfishing and Reeffishing Package 6 days $ 1100,-
Max. 2 persons. Price per person

Lesser than 5 days :
Prices Multifish Flat Fishing 07.00 - 12.00 $ 200,- including transfer from the hotel, breakfast, coffee, softdrinks, beers.

Reeffishing is 3 hours $ 180,- 2 hours $ 120,- including transfer from the hotel, softdrinks and beers, 32 ft Sportfishing cruiser, captain
and mate.

Max. 2 persons. Price per person, can be divided by 2 if you fish with 2 persons. There are many more options, like 8 hours flatfishing with lunch, and lesser reeffishing. Please tell me what you like the most and I will explain it you. Please remind, Bonaire is hardly fished before, so go now...................

Accommodation : We stayed at the Plaza Resort Bonaire*****. Please
check www.plazaresortbonaire.com. A perfect place. .

AML = The aircompany of the Antilles seems to controll his terrible situation right now. I took the plane one day from Bonaire - Curacau - Bonaire and the flights were on time !

Still I advise you, to take a fligh directly to Bonaire or to
Curacau with a connecting flight to Bonaire. There are several flights with AML everyday. If you contact Robert Seket, please tell him that you have got from me the information. He and his wife are very, very nice people and will do all the best to give you a perfect fishing time on the island.

I hope this information satisfies you ! Please let me know !!

Best Regards,

Theo Huizing, www.tropicalflyfishing.com
