Spanish Macks - still around Oct 6th?

Got a trip planned to Harker's Island around October 6th. Was very pleased to here captjoe's reports of early albert action! Unfortunately, we're not bringing the boat and will only be flyfishing for albies and bonito from shore. If we're not too lucky getting close to the schools, I was hoping we could rely on some pretty easy fun with the Spanish as a backup. Despite the little cold snap we're gonna get this weekend and any others we might get between now and then, can we count on pretty strong schools of Spanish that week? If so, where? I'm thinkin' the jetty and inside the hook. Thanks for any info!

Yes, the spanish will still in the area. There are a number of places to fish. Depending on the weather each are very productive.
Fort Macon Rock Jetty,Fort Macon State Park Atlantic Beach Hours in the park are 7 am to 6 Fish off the end of the Jetty
Rough Pt The west end of Shackleford. Lots of action as of late. The Bait has been pouring around the pt, spanish and cores been waiting.

The Spit at the Cape. Albies and spanish were heavy this week. Like it was Nov. small fish but plenty fish..

Their calling for nw winds 20
Not a bad thing, will end up pushing loads of baitfish out of both inlets.
This fish have been in the inlets near the high tide .
