Lure suggestions for Yucatan Shore/Reef fishing

I normally fish for Striper in Boston, but I'm taking my surf rods to Mexico (south of cancun) for a week and I hope to do some surf fishing there. I've never fished the shore in the carribean before, does anyone have any suggestions for lures for the standard inshore fish (barracuda/jacks/etc)? Any tackle (line/leader/hook) or technique suggestions are also greatley appreciated. Thanks

Jay Any kind of poppers work good for jacks. Cudda take any thing brite and also casting tubes in florecent green and yellow work well. Need more on guides in the south of cancun area feel free to contact me at mcclarenserv@hotmail.com
