Turkey

Will be travelling in Turkey during November of 2001.Although the main purpose of the trip will be to follow the routes of the Crusades along the Aegean Sea there is no reason why I cannot put a fly in the salt. Looking for any advice as to what species are available, seasons, where, what flys etc. Any and all suggestions accepted. will post on return.

RE: Turkey

November is a great time to travel the southern coast. We did it in August a couple of years ago & it was very hot & humid. I took a 6 wt & some Clousers & caught some small needlefish. The one day that I had a shot at some small Jacks there was no time to stop and fish. Be sure and take snorkel gear, as you can find antiques virtually anywhere underwater. It is not legal to take them however. It's a wonderful country, the food is excellent, the Turkish people are very friendly & most of them under 30 speak English. Have a great time!
