Fishing spots in Narraganset for this Sunday

I am hoping for some suggestions on a few fishing spots to try this Sunday. I know it is early in the season but I need to get out for some casting practice. I am not familiar with the area but since I live in the Blackstone valley area I thought it would be a nice alternative to the cape. I am thinking of going to Narragansett and directions to a few spots to check out would be great. I will be using light tackle from the shore.

Thanks
Tim

RE: Fishing spots in Narraganset for this Sunday

Tim,
Here are a few spots worth trying this weekend, with the warm weather forcasted this may be when they finaly show up.
From rt1 south take the Narragansett exit and turn left, take the third street off the rotary toward the town center / beaches. Follow this about 1 mile at lights take a left, follow to next light and go left again, drive past beaches (on your right) this is rt. 1a. Follow to bridge, there is a small parking lot on the right before the bridge, the river that flows through here is the Narrow River and is one of the best early season places to fish. I will leave finding the "good spots" on the river up to you as it took me a while to figure out where the fish were holed up.
The second spot I will give directions to is the West Wall. From rt1 south go past Narragansett exit about 5-8 miles. Take exit for Matunick State Beach(succotash rd) it will be an exit on the left hand side of the highway. Follow succotash rd. past the state beach you will pass a bunch of small cottages. when the road bends sharply to the left you will see some docks on your right. Park in this area and walk back the way you came but head up the hill to your left. There is a sign that reads no vehicles beond this point, residents only. walk up this road to the end, you will see the wall on your left. There will be other guys fishing here no doubt since it is another spot the bass show early. good luck,
Brian

PS you may want to try the Charlestown breachway, follow rt1 south and when you get into Charlestown there will be signs.
