RE: Storing equipment in the winter
I give my salt reels a good scrubbing with fresh water and soap and when dry coat with a thin film of WD-40 and wrap wrap in plastic and put away. Flylines should be taken off the reel and washed and cleaned with one of the many flyline cleaners available. It has been said that the best way to store them is to coil them up about a foot in diameter and hang them in a dry controlled enviorment preferrably in your house or basement somewhere. Personally? I wash/clean and leave em on the reel and re-do this procedure in the spring and give them a good stretching....Jeff
